So having my webtoon published on LINE, Tapas, Tumblr, Pinintrest, Instagram, Facebook, Smackjeeves etc I publish my webtoon on multiple platforms because as the saying goes, don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. That way it makes it so much easier to move the word ballon around when formatting for printed comic version and not having to worry about touching up the art underneath. Since I plan on printing my webtoon I like to make sure that I don’t have my speech bubbles covering and unfinished parts of my characters or background. I also add the word ballon after I rough draft the characters so that I can make sure everything doesn’t look overly cramped.
I use a rule of third to help me place my webtoon panel but here is a blog post where I share my format file set up. I usually draw two panels per webtoon file but usually my panel size are about half the size of my webtoon page. My favorite screenwriting or comic script program is Celtx. So if you’re having issues trying to outline a comic story try focusing just on answering the 5W1H when doing your story outline~ My webtoon making process What to use to write a Webtoon Comic ScriptĪfter I have my story or comic script outline what I do next is add the dialogue and the program that I use tend to change from time to time. It’s easier for me to tell a story when I see it as more so answering a question instead of seeing it as some big dynamic conversation I’m having with someone. So using the 5W1H to help me keep my story outline in order helps me to find an ending to my story. I have had trouble in the past writing a webcomic or a webtoon and it ending up on hiatus or I just don’t know where the story is going.

In order to make a digital webtoon webcomic you’ll need an art app like Clip Studio Paint or ibis Paint and a drawing tablet or touchscreen so you can use your fingers or a pen stylus to draw on mobile device.
